Family time in Gainsborough

Today was a sad day as we attended the funeral of my Uncle Ken (my mum's sisters husband). He passed away last week after a battle with cancer. The last time we visited in 1997 Uncle Ken took us for a great day trip to the Humber Bridge (see yesterdays blog) and to a typical English Pub.
As they say with weddings and funerals - you get to catch up with all those long lost relatives, well that is what we did today. I wish it had been for a wedding, but there you are. Despite the circumstances it was great to see some of my other Uncles and Aunts and cousins (and second cousins, and third cousins...)
After attending the wake at the Horse & Jockey we are now bunkered down at my Uncle Roy's trying to keep warm. It is very English weather today FREEZING and grey.

  1. So special that you could be there to represent our family for Janet, I'm sure that would have meant so much for all of them. Give my love to all our Gainsborough lot!
    Stay warm and safe
    Love you heaps
