Lunch at English Pub
We started the day with a stroll to down town Gainsborough including the street where my mum grew up (picture).
Then we settled into some English lifestyle by having Sunday dinner at The Fox and Hounds. A huge meal including Yorkshire Pudding - yum! Thanks to my Uncle and his partner for taking us there.
Next we headed off to the seaside (Cleethorpes) to see another side of English culture. Very interesting. A huge contrast to our Australian beach lifestyle and scenery. Not a place I would like to spend a lot of time in but it certainly attracts a lot of visitors. There are nicer places in England.
After that we tripped up to the Humber Bridge - an impressive suspension bridge over the Hull river. One of the world's longest single span suspension bridges. Great view of the bridge and a wetland/conservation area which was interesting. Learnt about the water vole - a small mammal which I had never heard of until today - the things you learn.
