Bonjour everyone! The Loire Valley has been beautiful. It was very cold today though - but we soldiered on.
First stop Chateaux Chambord - considered one of the most magnificent castles in France. It was used in the past for many things including the summer or hunting house for the kings of France and also as a place to hide some of the artistic treasures during WWII. It was very grand with very interesting architecture.
Afterwards we had to do some domestic duties - yes we still have to wash our clothes - at the local laundromat. It is all an experience. Each day we learn new French words like "panne" means "broken down".
We still wanted more of the Loire Valley so we went on to visit the wine caves where they store wines from around the region. The caves are HUGE - like a whole series of streets with street names all underground. Then we tasted some of the local "methode traditionalle". Tre magnifique! The kids were happy too as they also got to try some local "kids wine". Very interesting and fun and yummy.
A final dinner in Amboise at an Italian restaurant!
