Paris - Louvre & Notre Dame

After breakfast we set off on the Metro into the city. Again we struggled as when we arrived at the station we discovered it was part of a shopping mall - a HUGE shopping mall and we could not find our way out onto the street!! What a laugh! It gave us a good chance to check out some shops though...
Eventually we found our way out and wandered (after getting directions) to Notre Dame. Love it. The place really is amazing - you can feel the history and the life in it. Beautiful.
We had freshly made crepes outside the Notre Dame for lunch - made with lots of CHEESE!! YUM!
Rain was coming in by this stage so we headed to the Louvre for the afternoon. An overwhelming place. It is just enormous! We saw the essentials including Mona Lisa, Milo and Mary Magdalene and the building itself which is truly beautiful. You would need a week to see everything in there and years to really appreciate it.
On the way back to the room we found the most delicious bakery and had to try the chocolate cake, chocolate eclairs and a baguette. The chocolate cake was amazing. Back "home" for more cheese, wine and baguette. Life is good.
Check out Cameron - who after some initial culture shock is settling into Paris quite well!
