Sacre Couer & metro riding

We rode the metro into the city area and found some lunch in these interesting back alleys - the Latin Quarter. Fabulous.
We wandered on then to the Pantheon where they bury the famous french people - but not Napolean - so we went on further to find Invalides which is where Napolean is buried.
Dinner was another interesting experience. To cut a long story short - we were invited to eat at this local restaurant by the owner. The restaurants do not normally cook for evening meals but she said she would do it for us - some special french food. The food itself was fairly plain (steak - rare and chips) but the atmosphere was fabulous and she made us feel at home. She also asked us to taste her uncles "special liquor" made from prunes from her garden. It smelt like nail polish remover and did not taste much better - what a laugh! She told us that if we drink it we would not ill - it will cure everything. Not ill, but dead perhaps!
Wherever you are in this city the sites, the buildings, the people, the food is amazing - even when you are not exactly sure what you are looking at at the time. We have had a ball here and we are exhausted.
